SHL Celebrates 2024 World Day for Safety and Health at Work

At Stretford Hill Limited (SHL), safety is a core part of our culture. On April 28th, 2024, we proudly joined the global community to commemorate the *World Day for Safety and Health at Work*, themed **”Climate change and safety and health at work”

To mark the day, employees from across our project sites and office turned out in coordinated SHL T-shirts, jeans, and sunshades, setting the tone for a vibrant yet purposeful celebration. The day was designed to be both educational and engaging, reflecting our belief that safety can be serious business and still be fun.

The event featured insightful safety lectures focused on the evolving risks posed by climate change and how we can stay proactive as a company. A key moment of the day was the address by our Managing Director, *Lakunle Runsewe*, who reminded the team of SHL’s long-standing commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices. His speech emphasized that our greatest asset is our people — and keeping them safe is non-negotiable.

We also took a collective pledge to reaffirm our responsibility to uphold safety on and off site. From games that tested our hazard-spotting skills to real-time emergency response drills, the event was as enriching as it was enjoyable.

At SHL, every day is a safety day. But on this special occasion, we came together to celebrate it, recommit to it, and make it even stronger.
